Pangolin Photo Challenge Judges

Pangolin Photo Challenge Judge Ann & Steve Toon

Former magazine editors Ann and Steve Toon switched from journalism to professional wildlife photography 20 years ago, following a life-changing visit to the Kalahari. They specialise in documenting the wildlife of Southern Africa, where they spend four or five months of the year photographing in game reserves. Ann and Steve use their journalistic and photographic skills to raise awareness of the complex issues affecting wildlife today, publishing articles in magazines and newspapers around the world. They also lead specialist small group photographic safaris to some of their favourite destinations in Southern Africa, including the Chobe River in northern Botswana, Mashatu game reserve in Botswana's Tuli Block, Zimanga private game reserve in South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal, and the Sabi Sand in Greater Kruger, South Africa. Their safaris concentrate on spending time in locations with abundant game and 'value-added' photographic opportunities, such as photographing from specialist photo boats and low level hides.
